This article presents Orgain’s B Corp™ certification announcement. The figures, employee benefits and dated initiatives below describe the Orgain brand’s historical announcement, including its references to 2020, 2022 and plans for 2023.
Orgain announced that it earned B Corp™ certification, joining a growing movement of businesses balancing purpose and profit to positively impact the planet and the people living on it. Orgain described this as an important milestone in its ongoing efforts to be a force for good, following its founding mission to provide accessible, clean nutrition for all.
The announcement describes Certified B Corporations, or B Corps™, as companies verified by B Lab™ against standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. To earn its certification, Orgain worked with B Lab™ to complete the B Impact Assessment™, evaluating five key areas: Workers, Environment, Customers, Community and Governance.
Highlights reported from Orgain’s 18-month B Impact Assessment period:
- Over 75% of Orgain’s product portfolio was USDA certified Organic. The announcement connected this to sustainable agriculture, reduced pesticide use, healthier soils and the nutritional value of what is grown.
- Orgain reported using high-quality ingredients to maximize nutrition. Its product portfolio had been reviewed and certified by a recognized third party focused on quality, and 100% of its suppliers were audited regularly for quality and food safety assurance.
- Orgain reported a diverse workforce across its leadership team and broader employee base: over 60% of employees identified as women and over 30% identified as being from a racial or ethnic minority.
- Orgain described employee wellbeing support including healthcare benefits, retirement matching, life and disability insurance, subsidized gym memberships, Calm app subscriptions, 13–18 weeks of paid primary parental leave and flexible work schedules.
Orgain described its commitment to positive change for the planet and the people who call it home. Its stated focus included expanding access to clean nutrition, sustainable practices that nurture the planet, and a healthy, fair and diverse workforce.
Access to Clean Nutrition
Orgain reported working with non-profits and individuals, donating time, money and food to help nutrition reach people who needed it.
- The announcement reported over 330,000 meals donated in 2022, with a plan at that time to increase donations by at least 5% in 2023.
Nurturing the Planet

- A green initiative launched in 2020 reduced plastic used in containers by 40%, saving 30,000 pounds of plastic annually without reducing the amount of product per container.
- Bio-based caps made from sugarcane, a renewable source, were described as producing 19% less CO₂ emissions than conventional caps.
A Passionate Team with a Purpose
